KATE MACINTYRE LUNG CANCER FOUNDATION, Davidson, NC

Mission: The Kate MacIntyre Foundation was created by Kate MacIntyre and her husband Peter Macon a few weeks before she died. The foundation’s goals are as follows:

·         Establish a network mentoring program for young women for career development and service in advocacy

·         Fund awards to Lineberger Cancer Center of UNC for early diagnosis of Lung Cancer

·         Develop an advocacy program for clinical trials

·         Develop an advocacy program for early diagnosis

The Foundation will support programs at the Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC which:

·         Support lungcancer patient advocacy;

·         Encourage the participation in clinical trials;

·         Provide mentoring of young professional women interested in the health care profession.
