About the Speakers

Tricia Hamzik has worked for the YMCA both in Louisville and Detroit for the past 25 years. She has 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren and is an avid runner. She serves currently as the Executive Director of the South Oakland Family YMCA which is part of the Detroit Association. She wrote the grant for Livestrong at the Y in 2018 and has been supporting the program since then at two of our branches. She is proud to work with our Livestrong team because it fulfills the mission of the Y!


Rebecca Baizas is the Fitness Experience Director at the Farmington Family YMCA Nationally Certified Personal Trainer, LiveSTRONG at the YMCA instructor and Livestrong at the YMCA Program Trainer.  Rebecca has 30 years in the fitness industry and 14 certifications including Human Movement Specialist and Somatic therapy.  Rebecca and team started Livestrong at the Y at her branch in 2018 and since then has had 63 graduates of the Livestrong at the YMCA program.  Since losing her Mom to cancer in 2019, helping cancer survivors and growing the Livestrong program has been a passion project.
